Welcome to the WVADE blog

My name is Steve Woodburn and I have recently been inducted as the new president of the West Virginia Association of Developmental Education (WVADE). During our recent annual meeting in October, we discussed ways of enhancing communication. We have utilized websites in the past, but they tend to change when we change presidents and are never up to date.

Therefore, we discussed using a blog. So this is my attempt. When this is finalized, all members of the executive committee will have posting privileges. The blog has also been set up to allow comments from anyone.

The basic design of the blog is simple. Of course there is a section where anyone on the executive committee can make a post. To the right, there are links to websites that may be of interest to members and nonmembers of WVADE. There is also a section with links to other blogs related to developmental education. At this point, both of these sections have limited options but will grow as we go. If anyone has a website or blog that would be of interest to us, let us know and we will add it as a link.

One last goal is to determine a way that we can have a list of our officers and members, along with a copy of our constitution and bylaws.

Please check the blog regularly as I hope to provide useful information. In the very near future I will attach a link to a list serve which allows WVADE members to communicate easily with each other.

I hope this blog is useful and if you have any recommendations, please let us know.
